Summary statistics of a genome-wide association meta-analysis (GWAMA) of cholesterol precursors

Motivation:

Investigate genetic basis of cholesterol precursors lanosterol and desmosterol as intermediate phenotypes and the relation to coronary artery disease.

Summary

Summary statistics for genetic associations with cholesterol precursors. Investigated were traits related to lanosterol, desmosterol, and cholesterol. Summary statistics are formatted in the GWAS catalog format.

File name description

Zoosterols are coded as a three letter code. The first two letters indicate analysed zoosterol.

  • ch: cholesterol
  • de: desmosterol
  • la: lanosterol

The third letter indicates esterification status.

  • f: free (unesterified)
  • e: esterified
  • t: total

Ratio traits are represented by the two respective zoosterols separated by an underscore.

Column descriptions

  • chromosome: chromosome of the variant
  • base_pair_location: bp position of the variant (in hg19 coordinates)
  • effect_allele: effect allele i.e. the allele to which the genetic effect refers to
  • other_allele: other allele
  • beta: genetic effect estimate
  • standard_error: standard error of the genetic effect
  • effect_allele_frequency: n-weighted frequency of the effect allele
  • p_value: two-sided p-value for the association of a variant
